HeadSpace Counseling, serving Richardson, TX, was founded in 2012 to provide counseling for children and adults in our community. Our practice is staffed by two Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Audrey Atkins, and Carey Nottingham. We also recently welcomed Jamie Rosen, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, to our team.
At HeadSpace Counseling, we provide a safe, comfortable, and judgment-free environment for children aged 3 to 10, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Audrey, Carey, and Jamie each have their own specializations, allowing us to assist with:
- Addiction and Recovery
- Couples and marriage counseling with a Gottman-trained therapist
- Trauma and abuse
- Crisis counseling
- Bipolar disorder (BPD)
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related symptoms
- Eating disorders
- Play therapy
- Anger management
- Life transitions
Our mission at HeadSpace Counseling in Richardson, TX, is to help our clients find a way out of the chaos and arm them with the necessary tools to re-center themselves. Audrey, Carey, and Jamie are available when clients need a guiding and supportive hand or their burdens begin to feel heavy.
Bearing this in mind, we offer an individualized approach to your counseling by utilizing some of the following:
- Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT)
- Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT)
- Play therapy for children ages 3 -10
CBT focuses on addressing poor behavioral and thought patterns that are harming your overall well-being. REBT also focuses on addressing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors but takes a more directive approach.
Play therapy helps young children work through psychological issues that may be affecting them by utilizing play to communicate and redirect so that they may have a better chance at a happier, more secure childhood.
